Jimbo's Hairobics Class
Ready, Begin - a 1, 2, 3, 4...

Every breath you take, Every move you make,
Every bone you break, Every step you take, I'll be watching you.

It's important to stay fit and trim... and that goes for your hair & beard too.
So dare to take a walk after dinner tonight... take the steps instead of the elevator tomorrow at work.
Cause when you look good...you feel good. And remember:
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

Having "served" 25 years in the Healthcare Food Service Industry, I can tell you that when your JOB is FOOD between normal meals, the calories are going to pile up on your body like bricks on a condo. It didn't help being Italian either. The finest pasta, breads, meats, and of course desserts explains why there are relatively no thin Italians (except for maybe the 3-pack-a-day Mafioso OR Italian Dietitians, like the one I married). So the onslaught of DIET FADS through the decades have surfaced on the rollercoaster of life like Slim Fast, Grapefruit Diet, Dexatrim, Accu-Trim and so forth to no avail. Then I start hearing about cutting carbs. Yes, perhaps the Atkins thing is too drastic and unsafe----but a cutback, maybe in half, was in order. I researched the fact that excessive carb consumption in the form of REFINED FLOUR & SUGAR PRODUCTS such as pasta, breads, pretzels, cakes & pies caused the release of a high amount of insulin which in turn STORED the CARBS AS FAT in my body. Yes, FAT-FREE pretzels and FAT-FREE ice cream were making me FAT. Now don't misunderstand this: Every BODY is different and processes carbs and fat differently. Today is October 20th, my last pretzel was July 19th, and I'm 20 pounds lighter. I haven't starved at all. I continue to enjoy quality entrees like skinless chicken, salmon, beef & bean chili, lean pork loin, lean London Broil, and my new favorite Eggplant Lasagna. The carbs are high quality brown rice, yams, and whole wheat bread. Lots of salad and vegetables and a moderate amount of fresh fruit. Late night cravings are quenched by a one hour session of sunflower seeds, an apple, and a cup of Cheerios. 20 pounds folks. Activity? Yeh, 4 to 5 two-mile-walks per week and some light training in the basement: Treadmill, Rower, Stair Climber, and Ab Crunches. But these are activities I engaged in while being overweight! The difference: I SIMPLY CUT THE CARBS IN HALF. In conclusion, if you have no weight problem: carry on. If you have a weight problem, take it off and increase your confidence, productivity and creativity for a full life. As always, consult your doctor before undertaking any weight-loss program...
